This book introduces us to an amazing grandmother-grandson duo, where we see Ammachi (the grandmother) using her own machines and other interesting contraptions to make coconut barfi for grandson. In this process, Ammachi also teaches her grandson the various uses of all the machines which ultimately leads to the both enjoying some delicious coconut barfi!
In our opinion this book is addressing a pertinent issue, i.e., the inclusion of physical/hands-on experiences for young children in their everyday life. Using its illustrations and the excellent representation of Ammachi as an independent and teaching grandparent, this book can inspire children to contribute to household chores and learn many underlying mechanisms and new things in the process .
